A ticket is something another name says about yours
Your NamID ID is self-attested: you say who you are and the registry signs that you said it. A ticket is the next step — a venue (a name on .ids) attests "alice.x holds seat 12 for the 7 pm show". The signed ticket's hash goes into alice.x's own records (_tix.<event> TXT), the registry publishes those records to her DataLayer store, and that store's root is on the Chia chain. At the door, one question: is this ticket in the records of this name?
The registry keeps the credential and signs it as notary; the fact lives in the holder's own records, and the chain holds the root of those records.

Create or update an event. Paid events are paid to the venue name's XCH address with the memo tix:<event>:<holder>; the ledger reads the memo and the ticket is issued.
